PULLMAN, WA Hundreds of people were on hand for the much anticipated unveiling of the WSU Cougar themed Pullman Transit buses. The dark crimson design, along with the face of a cougar highlights a new “Go Cougs message that will travel around the Pullman area for the next 3 to 5 years. “It shows fantastic cooperation between the City of Pullman and Washington State University, said Pullman Mayor Glenn Johnson. “When WSU came to us and said theyd like to have Go Cougs written on our buses, we said “Yeah! Code-named “Cougar-Sighting the design was kept as a closely guarded secret until this mornings unveiling. Washington State University sponsored the project to celebrate the tremendous partnership it shares with Pullmans bus service. No taxpayer dollars were used in funding this project. Instead monies generated from WSUs trademark and licensing program will pay for the bus wraps. So far, only two buses have been redesigned, with plans now to wrap at least 10, possibly more. “There really is nothing like homecoming to celebrate the amazing collaboration between WSU and Pullman, said WSU President Elson S. Floyd. “this truly is a reflection of the great partnership we have. This past year, Pullman buses logged an astounding 1.4-million passenger trips. Most of the riders (88%) are comprised of students and staff from WSU.
