South Beach school unveils brand new indoor Footpool field to the sound of vuvuzelas

Once again, Miami Ad School has made a bold advance in the science of leisure-time activity. This time, that advance comes in the form of FOOTPOOL, a Soccer/Pool hybrid that was born from a desire to fuse the athletic artistry of soccer with the lowbrow excitement of pool.

It’s played like this: You kick the balls (bigger than pool balls, smaller than soccer balls) with your feet like soccer, but the gameplay is like pool. The field has four corner pockets & two side pockets like a traditional pool table. Now even the most athletically challenged student can feel like a Pele/Minnesota Fats hybrid. A

Miami Ad School Minneapolis students get to look around inside the doors of Fallon Worldwide

H&R Block, TheLadders.com, Cadillac, Travelers – these are just some of the clients that Fallon Worldwide has on its roster and on 2/16/11, Miami Ad School students had the opportunity to see right where the magic happens. From the moment you walk in the lobby and see the “We Are Fallon” sign, you know this isn’t just an individual effort, but rather a team of creative, account, production, and media geniuses working together to turn out the best possible work for their clients. Fallon’s beautiful space on 9th and Marquette was certainly inspiring and we thank Heather Johnston, Talent Resource Specialist, for showing us around! Thank you also to Jaell Ledford and Deborah Zavitka for setting up tours past and present, as well as ACD Heath Pochucha for being a mentor/portfolio reviewer for the students every quarter.

It’s that time again! Help Miami Ad School choose a Fall 2010 Global Top Dog.

At the each quarter’s end, all Miami Ad School Base School locations choose a Top Dog winner. The Top Dog is judged to have been the most outstanding piece of creative work executed during that quarter. Once again, we need your help. Please help us pick which students will be the Global Top Dogs for the fall quarter of 2010.

There are two parts to the competition. One is The People’s Choice, the winner of which will have earned the greatest percentage of the votes cast in this poll.

How Miami Ad School Grad Ali Ali Lent His Marketing Skills to the Egyptian Opposition

It was only a year-or-so ago that Miami Ad School alum Ali Ali founded his creative boutique Elephant Cairo. In that short time, he and his shop have attracted clients the likes of Google and Coca-Cola, gained international recognition at the Cannes Advertising Festival, and just plain-old did a whole lot of ass-kicking. But now Ali’s targeted another posterior. He’s brainstorming guerilla-marketing tactics aimed at toppling the Mubarak regime.

Ali Ali’s efforts have attracted the attention of AdAge, and they ran a an online feature on his current campaign in yesterday’s edition.

“Last week, he took a decades-old photograph of President Hosni Mubarak, added a Hitler-esque toothbrush moustache and floppy hair, and found an opposition-friendly printer willing to open his shop late at night and run off 100 copies of the silk-screened poster.
